Call for Papers

The Philippine Statistical Association, Inc. is now accepting papers for oral presentation in the 2012 PSA Annual Conference to be held on 16-17 August 2012 at the Apo View Hotel, Davao City. The theme of the conference is Strengthening Capacity in Statistics for Food Security.

The Conference aims to provide a forum for statisticians, producers and users of statistics that creates appreciation, awareness and understanding of statistics and research studies related to food security. The Conference welcomes papers on research investigations focusing on statistical methodologies and innovative approaches in the analysis of data that generate information essential towards making informed decisions to address food security concerns.

Nominations to the 2012 PSA Lifetime Achievement Award and PSA Outstanding Service Award are now being accepted by the PSA Search and Awards Committee. Deadline of submission of nominations is on 30 September 2012. Nominations may be sent either to the PSA office (Room 214, Room 214, Philippine Social Science Center Bldg.,Commonwealth Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City 1101) or through email to psai.sec@gmail.com. The awards will be presented at the PSA Annual meeting and Christmas party on December 7, 2012.

Attached are the nomination forms which contain the procedure of selection of awardees and qualifications of nominees.

Who can apply/be nominated?

     1. At least a Master’s Degree holder relevant to the job, i.e.,
         Statistics/Applied Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or other related fields
     2. Recognized for competence in Statistics
     3. Must be a Filipino citizen
