Public Forum on the 2007 Review of the PSS

The Special Committee to Review the Philippine Statistical System (SCR/PSS) has completed its work on April 30, 2008. The Committee reports entitled "2007 Strategic Review and Evaluation of the Philippine Statistical System (PSS)" contains the findings and recommendation on the status of the PSS and how to enhance the System.

On June 4, 2008, Dr. Isidoro P. David, a member of the SCR/PSS, presented the salient points of the report in a public forum held in NEDA sa Makati Building. Discussion followed the the presentation.

 Attendees in the forum include, among others, Dr. Vicente Valdepeñas Jr. of the Monetary Board  and Chair of SCR/PSS, Mr . Tomas P. Africa of PSA and UN Consultant, Prof. Gonzalo Jurado and Prof. Solita Monsod of U.P. School of Economics, Dr Cielito Habito of Ateneo de Manila University, Prof. Angeles R. Buenaventura, Ms. Nieves L. Osorio and Ms. Cynthia C.Vallesteros of PSA, Ms. Margarita Songco of NEDA, Dr. Ana Maria L. Tabunda of Pulse Asia, Ms. Lina V. Castro of NSCB and Mr. Jose T. Yap, Dr, Jose Ramon G. Albert and Dr. Celia M. Reyes of PIDS. PIDS hosted the forum.
