Abstract

More and more people are experiencing pain and infection as a result of commercial glucose meters because of the invasive nature of these devices, which is on the rise due to the global increase in diabetes. There has been a surge in interest in non-invasive blood glucose monitoring as a new treatment option for many people with diabetes. A review of recent developments in non-invasive blood glucose detection technology is presented in this paper, along with a discussion of the major challenges that have remained. Medical, materials, optics, electromagnetic waves, chemistry, biology, computational science, and other fields are covered by the technology. This paper discusses the benefits and limitations of non-invasive and invasive technologies. We can expect non-invasive blood glucose monitoring to become more efficient and cost-effective as wearable technology and transdermal biosensors continue to advance.
